Hello KUOI listeners,
My name is Nicole Hindberg and I am the incoming station manager for KUOI. One of my goals coming into this position is to get our name out to a wider audience, not only on the University of Idaho campus but to Moscow as a whole.
One of the ways I want to do that is by revamping our blog. You may have noticed that we haven’t utilized our blog very much in the last year or so, and I want to change that. Starting this summer there will be a lot more music-related content on this blog. Whether it be music reviews from our DJs or Q&As with local artists who play downtown once music events are held again, there will be a lot more content.
As for this summer, none of us are currently in the office. However, we are still in contact with each other from a distance and planning some things for the future.
This summer we will have KUOI News briefs every week. Typically KUOI News stops in the summer, but we have decided to put out short updates and news stories as things happen in Moscow. So be on the look out for those on Spotify and on our social media.
On May 27, one of our oldest DJ shows, “The Big Bobber Show” will turn 25 years old. Even though we cannot celebrate together, this is still a great accomplishment for KUOI (be on the lookout for our celebratory posts on that day).
We will also be celebrating 75 years in October. We will be planning a celebration for that as well. Although we don’t know what that looks like yet, we are excited about planning this huge celebration.
Things are uncertain right now with COVID-19, but we are still playing music 24 hours a day. We have two remote shows continuing into the summer from Bob Hessleholt and Leigh Robartes. “The Big Bobber Show” with Bob Hessleholt airs every Wednesday from 2 a.m to 4 a.m. “Paradise Ridge and Dead Mule” with Leigh Robartes airs every Thursday at 11 p.m. If you want to try out remote DJing, shoot us an email at [email protected].
Continue to follow us on social media and listen to us when you can. As always thank you for listening to us.
