Spillage Village – “Spilligion”
Not a lot of people know that JID, Earrthgang and 6lack first started in a collective called Spillage Village along with other artists Hollywood JB, Benji, Jurdan Bryant and Mereba.
Four years after the collective’s last album, Spillage Village returned on Sept. 25 with their new album “Spilligion”. Considering how several of the artists in the collective have since reached an international fanbase, it will be interesting to see how the collective hops back on the horse with this new project.

JoJI – “Nectar”
The artist formerly known as Filthy Frank on YouTube has been on a roll in recent years and has gained a following solely for his music. Even though his recent musical projects have been mixed critically, his recent singles for “Nectar” have received almost universal acclaim. “Nectar” might be the best album JOJI has released.

Smoke DZA – “Homegrown”
Smoke DZA has been on a roll in recent years with his latest releases. His lo-fi stoner aesthetic has even crossed over into the mainstream, as he had a song on the NBA 2k20 soundtrack. His recent posse track , “Santos House Party”, with fellow rappers Big K.R.I.T., Curren$y, Wiz Khalifa and Girl Talk shows that he is not going to miss a beat with “Homegrown.”
