With school starting back up a few weeks ago, these first few weeks can really be tiring getting back in the swing of things. So, while you’re transitioning back to school, here are a few songs to help you.
- “Eternal Summer” -The Strokes
The Strokes’ 2020 album left us with a lot of great songs, but none more apropos for this time of year then “Eternal Summer.”
- “You Know It” -Colony House
“You Know It” is a great upbeat, alt-rock track that will lift your mood whenever it comes on.
- “Back With You” -SUGR?
While a small discography, SUGR? hasn’t released a bad song yet. “Back With You,” SUGR?’s most recent song, is a very fun indie-pop track.
- “See You Again” -Tyler, the Creator
Tyler, the Creator has had one of the best three album stretches, with “Call Me if You Get Lost,” “Igor” and the album this song is from, “Flower Boy.” “See You Again” is one of Tyler’s most recognizable songs and is always a great listen.
- “Love Me (When You’re Gone) -Whales·Talk
Whales·Talk has burst onto the alt-rock scene the past year with a plethora of great singles, but “Love Me (When You’re Gone)” is one of their most recent and one of their best.
- “Get Closer” –Life in Film
“Get Closer” is a great upbeat song to start your day. The song has great guitars that’ll for sure put you in a better mood.
- “Cry To” -Indigo
Moving back to school isn’t the easiest all the time, and sometimes you just need a song to cry to. “Cry To” is the most melancholic song on this list but is still a great indie rock song.
- “Distant Calls” -Ed Mount
“Close to Your Heart” is a great indie-pop album, but the absolute best song is “Distant Calls.” It’s a phenomenal song with a very fun feel.
- “Sunroof” -Courtship.
“Sunroof” isn’t exactly a back-to-school song per se, but a song for those trying to hold on to the last little bit of summer. It’s a fun, upbeat pop song that is great to listen to while driving around with the windows down.
- “No Place I’d Rather Be” -The Wrecks
From The Wrecks’ latest album “Sonder,” “No Place I’d Rather Be” is a chill indie rock song with great vocals from Nick Anderson.
