Postcard is a fun, easy-to-listen-to album that offers well-written lyrics, slick guitar solos, and grooving bass lines. Each track is straightforward and digestible, occasionally providing vocal harmonies or brass lines to change the attitude. From borderline reggae tracks (6 Days Ago) to twangy acoustic folk (Keep Knocking), this album has a variety of styles, yet Leimer always finds a way to stay committed to a clean guitar tone supported by heavy-hitting bass. There are times when the mixing, layers of instrumentation, and vocals become overwhelming, but this isn’t an issue to get caught up in. Postcard is the type of album that would sound best in a live setting.
